In recent years, ShowTex started an ecology workgroup, adopted sustainable operational practices, invested in a greener infrastructure, created a recycling programme for fabric waste from its workshops and launched the first range of eco-friendly stage drapes in the industry.
We’re putting long-term systems into place at all of our offices while incorporating sustainability at every stage of the product development process. Therefore, we strive to reduce our consumption of resources and seek to improve efficient use of these resources.
The waste generated from our business operations is managed according to the principles of reduction, re-use and recycling. We also give due consideration to environmental issues and energy performance in the acquisition, design, refurbishment, location and use of buildings.
Whenever feasible, environmental issues are taken into account in the procurement and transportation of goods and services, and we endeavour to work with partner organisations that share our green values.

ECO by ShowTex
All stage fabrics are treated with chemicals, there’s no way around that, but by working with eco-friendly materials and limiting harmful substances at production level, the fabric’s carbon footprint can be drastically reduced.
ShowTex offers a variety of green products, including sustainable theatre curtains, stage cloths for performing arts, festival backdrops, and budget-friendly exhibition fabrics for green meetings, events, and trade shows.
In this landscape, we recently launched our own “ECO by ShowTex” label in order to inform our clients about our extensive range of eco-friendly products. We attach the “ECO by ShowTex” label to all ShowTex products that incorporate methods to reduce and recycle waste or lower the overall use of harmful chemicals.
We continue to develop environmentally friendly stage fabrics by using textiles certified by the Oeko-Tex Standard 100. The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is a global uniform testing and certification system for textile raw materials, intermediate and end products at all stages of the production process to limit the use of dangerous substances.

Meet the products
Our flexible Acoustic Baffle proves ecology and noise level control can go hand in hand. The new acoustic fabric panels are made from 100% recycled material compressed together to optimise sound conditions. The absorption core is made of cotton remnants from our confection workshop that are shredded and treated with flame retardants.
Other ecological products designed to reduce reverberation levels in public spaces are woollen curtains. ShowTex is proud to offer Wool Serge made of regenerated wool that is unique to the market. Not only is this reused wool beneficial to the environment, it has a major impact on budget as well, compared to pure new woollen curtains.
