Amazing Stage Fabrics in Motion

St. Petersburg 308

St. Petersburg, Russia
August 2011

Saint Petersburg celebrated its 308th anniversary, with free concerts, street parties, impressive fireworks, and festive decorations from ShowTex.

To illuminate the stage in front of the majestic Hermitage building ShowTex delivered supplied a round GiantMirror, mounted in an 8m diameter circular truss. The back of the glassless mirror was covered with black Molton masking fabric to prevent the mirror from becoming transparent in daylight.

This was the first time a GiantMirror was integrated into an outdoor event and each spectator saw a different reflection depending on where they were standing.

Russian event organizers StagePro got inspired by the GiantMirror on display at the ShowTex stand at the Prolight & Sound exhibition in Frankfurt earlier this year and decided it was the perfect design feature for the St. Petersburg celebrations.
