The Venetian Theatre in Macao presented Myth of Fox, a one-of-a-kind production featuring a 6m diameter circular GiantMirror by ShowTex.
The Cantonese musical comes from the mind of Hong Kong and Macao music composer and lyricist Chon Lei, who is the show's producer, playwright, artistic director, composer and lyricist. A circular giant glassless mirror as the main set piece allows the designerto play with light, shadow, reflection and add depth on stage.
Myth of Fox is a great example of the theatre's effort to support the local creative and cultural industries by providing a platform to showcase local talent. The story of Myth of Fox follows a tribe of fox goblins who have been living in the forest for hundreds of years, but are afraid that deforestation by humans will lead them to eventual homelessness. The hero of the story, Little Fox, decides to incarnate into human form, promising to find true love among the humans within 100 days, to then reveal his true identity, paving the way for the rest of the foxes to migrate to a new life in the city.
