CCTV's Chinese Valentine Show and ShowTex: still a true dream team. Again this year, a large amount of flame-retardant textiles set the right mood during all the different acts. Time after time, either Voile CS, Spaghetti Budget or GobelinTulle drapes appeared to be the perfect fabric projection surfaces to add an artistic touch of romance to the show.
Budget string curtains
No less than five layers of custom-cut string curtains formed a stunning wavy ceiling above the dancers on stage. Combined with dreamy projections and colourful light effects, the TV studio simply transformed into a truly artistic and totally zen scenery.
Light effects on transparent voile
Projection mapping on sheer fabrics is always a good idea. Enter a layered backdrop of 21 Voile CS panels that seemed to have come straight out of a fairy tale. The delicate flowing strips of semi-transparent voile had romance written all over them and instantly added extra depth to the set design as well!
Projection on GobelinTulle
Making a projection surface appear and disappear on stage? CCTV did just that by placing four giant panels of GobelinTulle behind one of the performers. Visible as long as the inventive projections danced to the rhythm of the music, but totally hidden when the scrim was not lit. Creating magic has never been so easy!
