(un)curtain office

Ljubljana, Slovenia
October 2015

Dekleva gregorič architects transformed a 1938 building in Ljubljana into a working space separated by a system of Wool Serge Panne curtains from ShowTex that allows for countless scenarios.

Today’s businesses are dynamic, impulsive and constantly changing. Office spaces must therefore be flexible enough to respond to changing working groups and organisations, to their production processes and the need for personal comfort and technological development.

(un)curtain office is a space without a predetermined fixed partitioning. A system of Wool Serge Colour curtains was used for the organisation of the offices, allowing for endless possibilities in terms of functionality and appearance. In a few seconds, a meeting room with a large conference table can be transformed into a dining room with a mini library and a kitchen. The different offices around the central corridor can also smoothly merge into one common open space, suitable for collective work, a social event or even a pop-up store.

Wool Serge Colour by ShowTex is a double-sided raised fabric made of regenerated wool sporting great acoustic qualities. Acoustic curtains made of Wool Serge have the ideal weight and weave pattern for optimising the optical and acoustic properties of a space.
