Sonia Rykiel voor H&M

Paris, France
December 2009

Nothing less than a magical setting would do for the presentation of the 'Sonia Rykiel pour H&M' collection at the Grand Palais in Paris.

The creative spirit of Rykiel was matched with the ambitious concept of Etienne Russo's event company. Villa Eugenie is well known in the fashion world for extraordinary shows that appeal to all the senses. Often the backdrop for spectacular scenes, ShowTex cutting edge decorative fabrics contributed to make Russo's scenario happen. Together, it was a winning combination.

Russo explained his vision for the Rykiel event "The guests enter a surrealistic and fantastic world of fairy tales, leading through a tunnel to a mysterious forest populated by giant rabbits, balloon trees and magical mushrooms. Then, guided by enchanting music, the guests arrive at a romantic swing carrousel, huge inflatable poodles, and finally, a sparkling Eiffel tower of 25 meters. Naturally, in Parisian style, there are plenty of bars and cafés for all the guests. And also a 'Sonia Rykiel pour H&M' store where all guests have a chance to buy their favorites of the glamorous lingerie collection. All money raised during the lingerie sale will be entirely refunded to UNICEF".

Stars like Kate Bosworth, Eva Herzigova, Jean Paul Gaultier and thousands of fashionistas enjoyed the show in person and in a live online webcast. The moving floats transporting lingerie-clad models were covered in ShowTex Glitter Carpet that really sparkled in the light. Black and white GobelinTulle sharkstooth scrim in the house windows of the realistic city scene let warm light through while protecting the air of mystery. ShowTex SuperMirrors and Molton CS masking also featured in the venue decoration for this extraordinary event.
