As a global leader in inventing, developing and installing highly innovative, flame-retardant textiles and suspension systems, we spend our days tackling the most creative challenges in set building, stage and stand design. You can find ShowTex offices in Europe, the Middle East, North America, South Africa, Asia and Australia, but your home base and our head office is located in Burcht, Belgium.
Transforming ideas into working products? Check! With your CAD skills, knowledge of materials and expertise in mechanical product design, you know how to translate an initial concept into feasible product developments. You oversee the full mechanical design process and ensure optimal manufacturing conditions that are logical, practical and ecological.
As the Mechanical Engineer, you contribute to the improvement of existing products and the development of new ShowTex products every day (product-driven R&D). But you are also the technical support for any project-driven R&D requests that comes in via our sales team. No two days are the same! And while you’re at it, you keep an open communicating with all stakeholders, because you are the voice of the development center.
You understand how important technical documentation is to help customers understand the sometimes very technical ShowTex products. Right? So together with the CAD Technician and Document Controller, you oversee the production of technical drawings and renders for ShowTex manuals and technical datasheets.
But there is more: Besides the prototyping and product developments, you love to do technical calculations to ensure your developments tick all the safety boxes!
TRAINING AND EXPERTISE
As a trained mechanical engineer with solid experience, you juggle CAD software (OnShape), prototyping, materials and product design like a pro. You know that deadlines can be tight, but also that good organisation and communication gets you a long way. That’s why you are fluent in English, as well as Dutch because your team is an international one. Did you say you have experience in metal sheet design? Lucky us!
PERSONALITY AND SKILLS
You see solutions instead of problems and with that positive attitude, you ensure a great team dynamic every day. A mechanical engineer like you is obviously result and detail-oriented. Together with your team, you follow strict quality and workflow procedures throughout the full development process. Consistency for the win!
