Tech lab by Zuni Icosahedron

ShowTex is very proud to have worked with Zuni Icosahedron on the inspiring Freespace Tech Lab project. Co-organised with Hong Kong Kowloon Cultural District, the tech lab featured a series of experimental productions and an educational programme in a dazzling performance area encircled by mirrors.

No less than four giant mirrors of 4 metres high turned the impressive theatre into a fully reflective space with infinite possibilities. The glassless mirrors of 12m and 19m wide provided a creative platform for an interactive performance in which dancers, lights and projections were chasing one another. As the audience watched the line fade between reality and optical illusion, the performers and multi-media effects all merged into one inspiring artwork.

In a theatre space of endless reflections, Freespace Tech Lab is the perfect example of how the technical aspects of a production (staging, lighting, sound) are performing elements that are just as important as the actual performers themselves!
