ShowTex GobelinTulle - Sharktooth scrim

GobelinTulle

The GobelinTulle scrim allows you to play with light and open up a dreamy world of illusions in your show.

With the right light projected onto this fabric, you can make your performers appear or disappear like magic.

The classic theatre sharkstooth scrim (or sharkstooth gauze) can also be used as a classic projection scrim, large speaker gauze or mesh at exhibition stands.

More about GobelinTulle

THE RIGHT LIGHTING CREATES MAGIC

When lit at a sharp angle, the scrim will become opaque as long as the area behind it stays dark. When the area behind the scrim gets lighter, the scene will “bleed through” and appear. When light is taken off the scrim, it becomes virtually invisible.

Stage scrims both reflect and transmit light. When only front- or side-lit, they will appear opaque as long as everything behind them stays dark. A scrim will become almost transparent if the area behind it is lit, but the scrim itself remains unlit. A combination of both lighting (or projecting onto) the scrim and lighting the area behind it will create a foggy 3D scene. Using two layers of GobelinTulle creates the famous “moiré” effect.
