With sustainability and urban innovation at its core, Smart City Expo welcomes thousands of visitors to Congress Square, where ten freestanding AV Drop walls by ShowTex catch the eye. Wrapped in flame-retardant StretchTulle mesh and lit by integrated LEDs, the structures bring colour and movement to the venue.
The elastic mesh adapts to nearly any shape, whether used for 3D structures, backlit decorative features, acoustic gauzes, or outdoor projection surfaces. Even massive building façades can be completely wrapped in StretchTulle.
At Smart City Expo, the ten AV Drop walls with fabric skins do more than just decorate. Each towering structure forms part of the entrance to the various conference rooms, guiding visitors while adding a beautiful visual impact. Backlit with integrated LEDs, the open-weave mesh creates a luminous canvas that interacts playfully with its surroundings.
The AV Drop modular system forms the backbone of this installation, enabling rapid, tool-free assembly and versatile configurations.
Freestanding frames reach a whopping six metres in height, while the seamless integration of the stretch mesh fabric elevates the overall look. Together, they offer a practical solution that can be changed and reused for different venue designs and future events.
Inside the venue, eight functional rooms emerge without constructing a single wall. The secret? 462 linear metres of black Molton, tensioned on truss.
This extra-wide blackout textile efficiently masks stages, controls light and sound, and divides areas. Here, it shows how budget-friendly and flame-retardant fabric can improve both aesthetics and functionality.
