That’s something new. In Time Changes Everything, Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson uses the flame-retardant, golden tinsel curtain to create a soft yet powerful atmosphere.
When you walk into the hangar, a warm golden light welcomes you. In the middle of the space, thousands of thin, slashed fringes hang in a perfect circle. As they catch the light, they gently shimmer and ripple, creating a sense of quiet movement and a glowing effect. The way it plays with the light adds a strong visual focus and brings extra depth to the space.
A light breeze moves the lightweight tinsel curtain, slowly revealing what’s hidden behind. From the outside, you only see a silhouette. As you step through the curtain, you find yourself face-to-face with a woman, standing in the middle of a soft, golden circle. She plays a single E minor chord on her guitar. And in that quiet moment, everything feels slower and more focused, just as the artist intended.
