XL projections on outdoor Cielorama scrims at Sky Song

Adelaide, Australia
May 2022

Immense in scale, rich in meaning and unlike anything you’ve seen before. That’s Adelaide Fringe, a festival depicting Australia’s First Nation culture using immersive projection mapping effects on XL outdoor scrims.

XL outdoor projection screens

Audiences flocked from far and wide, for the premiere of Sky Song, the first feature-length drone show, visually supported by three large animated Cielorama scrims. A low-threshold event that meets high expectations, where people can enjoy a feast of lights and immersive projection art lighting up the sky. While drones fly in majestic formations, three 24 meters wide and 14 meters high outdoor projection screens show off XL video mapping effects in the open air.

Scrims adapted to all weather types

Thanks to the wind-permeability of the gauze, the projection surface is adapted to all kinds of weather conditions. This feature was needed from the installation to the deconstruction of the event where high winds challenged our installers. Whereas weather can be quite unpredictable, Cielorama was in all aspects the perfect solution for this outdoor event.

Gaze up and admire the stars at Sky Song thanks to XL outdoor projections. Sit back, relax and enjoy the show.
