Le Timbre d’Argent

Paris, France
January 2018

Director Guillaume Vincent took “Le Timbre d’Argent” by Camille Saint-Saëns to the exquisite Opéra Comique in Paris. Co-produced by Palazzetto Bru Zane, the audience rediscovers this little known masterpiece in which reality, magic and drama merge together. Backed by a glossy Satinac stage drape by ShowTex, “Le timbre d’argent” tells the story of an unhealthy obsession for gold.

James Brandily integrated an impressive 20 x 20-metre festoon curtain made of purple Satinac in his set design, enhancing the glamourous yet dramatic atmosphere on stage of this opéra fantastique. As Satinac is an extra-wide, non-transparent and silky fabric, it was the perfect choice for this kind of lush theatrical draping.
