The Sessions

London, UK
May 2016

This audio-visual extravaganza is part theatrical performance and part live concert set in a state-of-the-art reproduction of the Abbey Road Studio 2.

The studio replica was framed on three sides by 16 see-through FP XL Mesh strips that served as giant video screens for most of the performance. Besides showing technical details about each song, the 3 by 11m screens displayed visuals supporting the music. When needed, the panels could be raised by HiSpeed RollUp systems, giving the audience a direct view inside the studio.

ShowTex connected 4 Truss Rollers with a width of 3 meters on the front and 6 on each side of the stage. These could set the whole studio in motion using only one HiSpeed RollUp motor on every side! On top of this, the entire action was controlled through DMX by the lighting operator.

Nothing was left to chance, as ShowTex printed the back of the PVC mesh in black to prevent the projected image of being visible from within the studio.

The striking stage design bustling with the constant movement of cast and set elements made the entire performance just the perfect reproduction of the buzzing atmosphere that was resonating during the ever famous Abbey Road sessions!
