Conical Couplers Truss-Roll are used to connect a Truss Roller to the HiSpeed Motor 8000. The Truss-Roll Couplers are asymmetrical as one side has a conical and a cylindrical shape and mates with the truss. The other side is fully conical shaped and mates with the truss roller.
Conical Couplers Roll-Roll are used either to connect two Truss Rollers, a Truss Roller and the HiSpeed Motor 3000 or the Angled Transmission. The Roll-Roll Couplers are symmetrically shaped with on both sides a conical and cylindrical shape.
Conical End Pieces are used for protection of the Truss and are removed when the Truss Roller gets coupled. For transport the Conical End Pieces need to be re-inserted at all times.
The motors and rollers always need at least 2 Conical Couplers or End Pieces in place. Never remove 4 Conical Couplers or Conical End Pieces of a motor or roller simultaneously as this will result in the side plate to detach and roller to fall apart.
If there is a Coupling End Cap present at the side of the Truss Roller that will be coupled, loosen the screws and remove the Coupling End Cap.
Remove the bottom right and upper left Safety Clips from the Pins of one side of the Angled Transmission.
Hammer the bottom right and upper left Pins out of the Angled Transmission.
Remove the bottom right and upper left Conical End Pieces from the Angled Transmission.
Unfasten and remove the bottom left and upper right Safety Nuts from Pins of the Truss Roller.
Hammer the bottom left and upper right Pins out of the Truss Roller.
Do not use the Safety Nuts that come with the Pins, but use a spare M8 nut to prevent damaging the thread when hammering them out. Hammering on the Pin directly can damage the thread, and hammering on the Safety Nut can damage the nylon collar.
Remove the bottom left and upper right Truss-Roll Conical Couplers from the Truss Roller.
Insert Roll-Roll Conical Couplers into the empty bottom left and upper right holes of the Truss Roller.
Align the holes of the coupler and a pin with thread, and hammer the pin into the bottom left and upper right holes of the Truss Roller.
Fasten a Safety Nut on the bottom left and upper right Pins of the Truss Roller.
Unfasten and remove the bottom right and upper left Safety Nuts from Pins of the Truss Roller.
Hammer the bottom right and upper left Pins out of the Truss Roller.
Do not use the Safety Nuts that come with the Pins, but use a spare M8 nut to prevent damaging the thread when hammering them out. Hammering on the Pin directly can damage the thread, and hammering on the Safety Nut can damage the nylon collar.
Remove the bottom right and upper left Truss-Roll Conical Couplers from the Truss Roller.
Place the Coupling Spider on the coupling jaw of the Truss Roller.
Align the coupling jaw of the Angled Transmission with the coupling jaw of the Truss Roller and insert the Conical Couplers into the Truss Roller.
Hammer a Pin into the holes of the Angled Transmission.
Insert the Safety Clips into the Pins of the Angled Transmission.
Hammer a Pin with thread into the holes of the Truss Roller.
Fasten a Safety Nut on the Pins of the Truss Roller.
Repeat these steps to couple the second Truss Roller to the Angled Transmission.
Provide the rigging points that are required for your setup. These are different for each Truss Roller size and depend on the truss junctions.
A rigging point must be provided at each truss junction. For more information about the correct rigging points for each setup, consult the Technical Data Sheet.
Your Angled Transmission is now coupled and rigged, go back to the Plugging in the Cables chapter in the main HiSpeed RollUp Installation Manual for further installation steps!
Periodic, regularly scheduled maintenance inspections are necessary as the HiSpeed RollUp has components that must be inspected, adjusted, maintained and replaced. To ensure the safety and proper functioning of the system, it is essential to establish a routine inspection.
Please follow the provided schedule below as the minimum maintenance program. After the operating personnel gains experience with the system within the initial year, additional measures and adjustments may be implemented based on your systems specific needs.

To effectively maintain your HiSpeed Angled Transmission, it is recommended to regularly use it as it helps distribute the grease evenly. Instances of above-average use or operating the curtain in surroundings with high humidity, dust or extreme temperature changes may require shorter intervals than indicated in the Care & Maintenance. Contact your local ShowTex branch to obtain the correct grease specifications.
