The Print Room Dance Company brings Hubert Essakow’s choreography, an exploration of the Earth (Terra) in ‘The Coronet’, a beautiful Victorian playhouse in London, Belgian visual artists Sofie Lachaert and Luc d’Hanis created a highly atmospheric theatrical landscape featuring AluShape Cretonne by ShowTex.

All looks fragile, liable to crumble at any time. A stage-filling AluShape Cretonne molding cloth suggests that the six dancers survived some latter-day Pompeian eruption that covered everything in dust. A pile of seemingly mismatched furniture, semi-buried in rubble; chairs in varying stages of deterioration, a wardrobe, a mirror, an old worn pendulum clock, … underline the idea of memento mori and the fleeting existence of ourselves and our belongings.

AluShape is the ideal fabric to create natural backdrops, stage scenery and props in a fast and easy way. It is surprisingly lightweight and thanks to its sturdy design it supports most set pieces without any reinforcement or supporting structure.
