The high tech Yas Marina Formula 1™ circuit opened at the end of August in Abu Dhabi. The inaugural 2009 Formula 1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix marked the first time in Formula 1™ history that a race was scheduled to start in daylight and end during night-time. “Yas Marina Circuit has been built from the outset to host day and night-time activities,” said Richard Cregan, CEO of Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management. “Staging Formula 1’s first ever day/night race offers us the unique opportunity to demonstrate the circuit’s inbuilt flexibility and state-of-the-art facilities.” Only the most advanced technology available went into this project. That’s why they called on ShowTex Middle East to provide 4 FrontScreen super mat projection screens each measuring 5x14 meters. A Retro Grey Plus rear projection screen attached to a HiSpeed Roll Up guarantees precision movement. Special events at the circuit have also made use of ShowTex acoustic masking. Ready, set, go!
