Lahore Expo Center theater
Lahore Expo Center theater gets velvet treatment
These days stage lights are getting more and more powerful and theater curtains have to absorb more light than ever before. Getting true black onstage is a must. And it requires the latest weaving and color technology available. That’s why ShowTex created the Ultra-Black Shakespeare stage velvet with a short, dense upright pile to make sure black stays black. And the world’s theaters are sure glad they did. The state of the art theater for Pakistan’s Lahore Expo Center called on ShowTex Middle East for all their stage drapes and curtain tracks. Hundreds of meters of Velours Shakespeare in Ultra-Black make up the main curtain, legs, and borders of the theater. A perforated giant projection screen FrontScreen Supermat Perforato was also installed. Movement of the stage drapes is taken care of by the durable motorized ShowTrack curtain track system.
In recent years Lahore has become the national headquarters for the biggest retail groups in the world as well as major brands like Audi, Nestle, and Coca Cola. When it opens, Lahore Expo center will be the biggest and most exclusive shopping and entertainment complex in the region. The total project coordinated by the Abu Dhabi Group and the Government of Punjab will cost an estimated 500 million dollars. The grand opening is planned for February 2010.
