ShowTex canvasses, scrims, and heavy cotton stage velvet feature in the new opera collaboration of Kris Defoort and Guy Cassiers. House of the Sleeping Beauties premiered in De Munt theater in Brussels on May 8. Long white strips of ShowTex Gobelin Tulle are used as projection surfaces and the theater legs are constructed of deep red Moliere stage velour. House of the Sleeping Beauties is based on the novel by Japanese author and Nobel prize winner for literature Yasunari Kawabata. A must see delight for the senses.
