Amazing Stage Fabrics in Motion

Amerikafeber

Gothenburg, Sweden
September 2015

The Jubilee exhibition ‘Amerikafeber’ at the Maritime Museum of Gothenburg tells the story of the Swedish American Line. Design and communication studio Guringo created a spatial experience adopting a contemporary approach to exhibition design. The content is portrayed in a visual and narrative style featuring elegant white Voile CS curtains and vivid red DekoTaft borders by ShowTex.

A layered spatial design combining semitransparent curtains in white Voile CS and subtle, dynamic lighting created a floating, dreamy atmosphere. The inherently flame retardant sheers were thermocut which prevents the fabric from fraying and assures a clean finish.

Red DekoTaft borders by ShowTex acted as the connecting thread throughout the exhibition. The borders were finished on top with hook-and-loop fastener for easy installation. This semi-shiny taffeta works well with lighting and was both backlit for fine tuning light diffusion as front lit for spectacular reflection.
